Preserved Transparent Animals by Iori Tomita
These see-through critters are preserved in jars and injected with amazing technicolor enzymes to make them all glow-y. Break it down, Science: “Tomita uses an enzyme to dissolve the natural proteins in the flesh. He then injects red dyes into the harder bones and blue dyes into the softer cartilage, thus highlighting usually unseen internal structures. The dead creature is then preserved in a jar of glycerin”. You can even buy miniature versions of these… in Japan.

Caddis fly larvae are known to incorporate bits of whatever they can find into their cocoons, be it fish bone or bits of leaves. Hubert Duprat gave them gold, turquoise, gems and pearls.
I grew up around these in Louisiana - that’s sick

In the past week I’ve been learning about the Vietnam war. A war that worked thousands of solders to the bone. In WWII our soldiers were in battle for 10 days, more or less, in Vietnam, they fough day in and out for around 350 days a year, Through the thick forests and grasses, in the rain, through the mud. The Vietnam War might not have been a good idea, but I still give thanks to anyone who is willing to tistk their life to protect ours. Thanks Joseph for doing what you did and I’m glad you’re here with us today!
